Garcia’s Tire Shop is a family-owned tire shop in Madera. It needed an online presence, but not an inventory-heavy website or another complicated system for the owner to maintain. The business still works best through a conversation.

The main obstacle happens before that call. Customers often do not know their tire size, and the shop cannot confirm availability or provide a useful quote without it. The site needed to help people find that information without making the process feel technical.

Working independently, I owned the project from business requirements and customer-flow planning through original photography, bilingual content review, responsive development, QA, and deployment. I designed, built, tested, and launched the site in about a week, working with AI-assisted workflows.

The experience is built around one action: preparing the customer to call. A visual tire-size guide turns the numbers on the sidewall into three simple selections. Call and location actions remain prominent on mobile, while a live open-now line in the hero answers the hours question right away, and pricing policies, brands, services, and frequently asked questions address the practical concerns surrounding that decision.

The site is Spanish-first with a complete English version. The Astro-based build is live at garciastireshop.com; I reviewed the Spanish copy directly and deployed it through GitHub and Cloudflare Pages. Since launch, the owner has reported that customers are calling with the correct tire size ready, making it easier to check availability and answer their questions.

Website · homepage Hours and the deal, up front The hero answers the first question right away: “Open now, until 6 PM.” The October offer rides the scrolling banner across the top, fed by one editable file.
UX · tire-size guide Know what to ask for The guide shows customers where to find the three tire-size numbers and lets them assemble the complete size before calling. It only identifies a size; it never claims stock.
Language · English + Spanish Spanish first, fully mirrored Spanish is the primary experience, with an English version carrying the same information, hierarchy, offers, and calls to action. The chosen language is remembered between visits.
Original photography · storefront The actual business, not a mockup I photographed the storefront and designed the opening experience around a recognizable view of the business customers would visit.
Responsive · mobile Designed for the parking lot The mobile layout assumes someone may be checking a tire, comparing sidewall numbers, or looking for directions while away from a desktop. A sticky Call and Directions bar stays within thumb reach.
Early outcome · more prepared calls Better information before the conversation The owner reports that customers are calling with the correct tire size ready, giving him the information needed to check availability and provide a useful answer.
